I upgraded to 1.2, hoping the issues with displaying the tips to the roles selected would be resolved, instead all tips dissapear after the page loads, flashing temporarily whilst the page is loading. any ideas...?

danielb CreditAttribution: danielb commentedAre you sure this was due to the upgrade? Nothing changed except some things in hook_uninstall(). Got a link to the page?
What role issues are you refering to? I am not aware of any.

tallsimon CreditAttribution: tallsimon commentedThe first problem, i have worked it out. since the upgrade, the setting "help message" display method was reset to link rather than inline, hence the message was hidden.
the issue with the roles is that messages does not display unless 'anonymous user' is checked, this problem persists with 6.x-1.2.
So if I log in as a role which should see a message which is not visible to anonymous users, I do not see it. I can only make it visible if i make it also visible to anonymous users.
However, the message which should ONLY display for anonymous users, displays for authenticated users. essentially, it is ignoring the role selections, and only basing its display on the anonymous user box. This is true for a few roles I have tested.

danielb CreditAttribution: danielb commentedThank you for explaining, I have changed the behaviour to be a bit more predictable.

danielb CreditAttribution: danielb commentedIt is in the new release.
tallsimon CreditAttribution: tallsimon commentedIt now shows tips for authenticated users to authenticated users without needing the 'anonymous user' box ticked, but the messages are no longer shown to anonymous users even if the 'anonymous user' box is ticked. also, the config options are lost on updating the module or clearing the cache, so the messages are no longer displayed inline (in fact they are not seen at all as the modal overlay is not working with my theme).

danielb CreditAttribution: danielb commentedHmm this is working on my copy - are there no other permissions or caching interfering with the anonymous user's page?
Yeah there is another issue on this.
Expect an update on the last day of this month.

tallsimon CreditAttribution: tallsimon commentedYou are right, this is not exactly what happens, in fact once I change the settings to 'inline' I get all messages without logging in, even those which should not be seen by anonymous users. thank you for your continual efforts to correct this. it is a great module and I look forward to it all working!
