When using content_profile fields in the user registration form. On user registration, the profile node is published regardless of the node types workflow settings.

It would be nice if, the node type had "published" unchecked that the node wasn't published, but registration was still successful.
allowing the new user authenticated access to the site, but their profile node would not be visible until a moderator approved/published it.

dont use published/unpublished in your workflows, we got bit by this lately ... instead use the access control settings inside workflow module to create your draft/review/live states.
