I don't understand the point of this module. Looking at the screenshot of available checkboxes, there is nothing that is not already on people->permissions.

This module provide permissions on per node/ content type basis which you can not control from people->permissions tab. For example: if you want to restrict roles to not view some content type->nodes then you can set role base content access permissions or filter down this permissions to per node basis.
