Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
As always, I'll make a prediction post to be promoted by the other d.o webmasters.

dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedMade it "sticky". Not sure "promote o front page" does anything as the front page gets it content via specific views and such (I think). further promotion needs to happen by the Assoc (which controls social media).

apadernoAs I see from other nodes promoted to front page (e.g. https://www.drupal.org/drupalorg/blog/introducing-drupal.org-terms-of-se...), the nodes aren't made sticky. That would make the node stay on top of the other promoted nodes, which is rarely something we want.

dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedI freely admit that I might have lost any idea how our frontpage stuff works atm. ;/

apaderno@dddave I would not say that promoting to front page is the right term, as I don't see any part on https://www.drupal.org/ which is showing the post you added.
I will check to see if there is something we are missing on what it should be done.

apadernoI found only https://www.drupal.org/drupalorg/docs/content/front-page-promotion, where I can read the following.
I am not sure how to take that. Does it mean there are settings accessible just to DA staff? Does that merely mean it's their task to promote on front page, and they schedule the post to promote so it stays on front page enough to be shown?

dddave CreditAttribution: dddave commentedAhh. I remember. A couple of years back, during redesign and all that this was discussed and ultimately realized: the frontpage is 100% managed by the DA. They control the display.
So, this should be kicked over to the DA and I guess the post needs to become a blogpost or whatnot.

bertboerland CreditAttribution: bertboerland commentedwell, lets skip. the tradition is a bit fading, but getting to the f/p of d.o vai the da is too long road for me.
