Image and Embedded Media

Was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. I have two fields. An Embedded Media Field for Youtube and Vimeo videos, or a field to upload multiple images. I want the user to be allowed to use one or the other. I have the dependent/dependee set up up correctly (tried it with other fields to confirm). When a user inserts a video, the image fields should be hidden, and vice versa. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work either way. Is this a known bug? I've searched through all the documentation and issues to see if there was anything similar, but was unable to find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
