Hello,

I am storing my computed field in the db, and would like to use its value as a Unique Field, yet somehow it does not detect duplicate entries. Even tried playing with modules weight but no luck.

Any tips?

What modules are you using? If you're using Views, try the "Distinct" property in the "Basic Settings" panel of your view. That solved an issue with duplicate entries triggered by computed fields for me, and it might be applicable in your case as well.
