I get this error when editing an existing commerce product:

How do I reproduce this error?

Was the product already referenced to any products? Did you add/delete/edit a product display node? What steps did you take to get this error?

I can't seem to reproduce this with 7.x-dev.

This error can occur when referencing a product from another product, a simple patch adjusting the query to limit entity selection to nodes
