As I've understood we don't run status updates on installation profiles. So how does one update minor versions, in my case from rc5 to rc6.
Thanks in advance.

Adding to this request with some more thoughts and concerns on the table in the recent release candidate rc6.

I noticed that rc6 is using Drupal 7.9. Drupal 7.10 just was recently released. In reading up on the Commerce module, I noticed there is a list of required modules from the following:

Drupal Commerce currently depends on Drupal 7 with the latest releases of a few modules: Ctools 1.0-rc1, Views 3.0-rc3, Entity API 1.0-rc1, Rules 2.0, and Address field 1.0-beta2.

I believe the current rc6 installation profile might be lacking some of these since I am getting a nice long list of dependency issues prior to doing an "update.php" on the site to Drupal 7.10.

Thoughts, comments, and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Also if this request should be ported over to the main Commerce module, please do advise.

I believe this will be the cat and mouse game that is installation profile work :)

That being said, I'm sure rc7 will include Drupal 7.10.

To answer the original question, according to the Installation Profile Documentation page, "Please note that an installation profile can only be used when you're installing a new Drupal instance. This means that you can not run an installation profile on an existing Drupal to add extra functionality."

Actually I found what was throwing me off with the upgrades. Typically we just do the "drupal/sites" directory (since we normally do not use installation profiles, save for Commerce). We forgot to include the "drupal/profiles" directory which is linked in the Chaos Tools include per some of the error messages received and as noted in thread Updating included modules, Comment #1.

Maybe as a thought, is there a way to use the Commerce Kickstart installation profile as a "one shot" install, then remove the installation profile for future modules and Drupal core upgrade? I will comment this on the thread you mentioned on #4 above as well.

Hopefully someone can help with this. I don't want to screw up my site - currently I am running DC 7.x-1.3 and it is saying that I should update my DC to 7.x-1.4 for security reasons. Also it is saying to update my Drupal Core from 7.14 - 7.16.

I am using Commerce Kickstart so I don't want to install one of these or both and have it screw up completely. I Cant afford to lose this site. I would really appreciate any input, on the best way to go about this as posting on other sites I don't get any feedback.

Thank you in advance

I'm starting to get errors using Commerce Kickstart 7.x 1.4 installed using the Kickstart profile so need to upgrade. Is there any clear documentation on how to upgrade drupal commerce minor versions after using the kickstart installation profile?

Cheers,
