I dunno if this fits in with your vision for the module, but I came looking for a way to create custom order states rather than statuses. Also would be nice if it was exportable :)

I don't see any reason we couldn't do custom states as well. Patches welcome.

For my particular use case I've released a separate module, so probably won't be motivated to write a patch to achieve either of these goals. (But still wanted to mention the idea!)

Agreed it's a bit of a missing patch for this module given that it allows for other things too!
