All jokes aside. It would be nice if COD had a way of letting someone know the event if almost full and they should really buy a ticket if they're speaking.

I've had this happened to me multiple times. I know it happened to me at drupalcampnyc and now again with drupaldelphia. I'm completely aware that this is a mistake on my part.

Maybe a solution to this could be having a dashboard view of all the speakers and their registration status that way the events coordinators could send an email blast to those speakers or something.

Does this make sense? Or is this just crazy and I really should register for events right away.

Title: Prevent Eric Duran(me) from being able to speak unless he has registered for the event » View of speakers without signups
Project: Conference Organizing Distribution » Conference Organizing Distribution Support Modules
Version: 6.x-1.x-dev » 7.x-1.x-dev
Category: bug » feature

Retitling this to what I think the actionable item would be, classifying as a feature request and moving to the cod_support queue.

This seems like a great feature. One area where it could extend functionality is the speaker confirmation flag: We currently use this to make speakers confirm that they *can* attend at the selected time and date - We could prevent then from confirming without being registered or similar.

Marking as 7.x, though patches are certainly welcome for 6.x.

Thanks, make sense.

I'll make an attempt at a patch.

I think this would be a great feature. Currently I hand-filter my speaker list against the registration list and ping those individuals who unregistered to do so. In a list of 4k attendees, this can be a bit tedious, and while I can currently speed through the notifications with a mail merge, it would be nice to see this automated as part of the overall session workflow.
