After installing Adaptive Themes, I installed the new Clean Corporate theme at:
https://www.drupal.org/project/clean_corporate_theme
The drop down menu feature did not work out of the box. Below are the following troubleshooting steps I took. Please note that I cleared Drupal's caches and the cache in both Firefox and IE multiple times while trying to resolve the problem.
I have tried the following without success:
1. Installed Superfish
2. Installed Update jQuery and tried overriding the default jQuery version for that theme only
3. Tried using numerous configurations, such as; using the themes Primary and Secondary Menus in the Appearances section, tried either the Drupal provided Main Menu or the Superfish Main Menu from the Menu Block in the Structure section.
I have experimented with setting the parent menu to 'show expanded', but that resulted in unexpected behavior: the menu would automatically be dropped down and sometime the sub-menus would be displayed or it would be blank spaces.
There is one path that gets this to work, which is not a viable solution: when logged in as admin, I use the Seven theme (Drupal's out-of-the-box theme). While browsing the website with the Clean Corporate theme is still visible. This is not a viable solution because all users would need to have admin rights.
Settings:
1. Superfish
a. Menu depth: -1
b. Take "Expanded" option into effect: checked
c. Menu Type: Horizontal
d. Path levels: 0
2. Edit Menu
a. Select any Parent Menu link
i. Show as expanded: checked
I am now looking at using the Clean Corporate theme for now. It has a lot more users and the drop down menus work. But, I still like the look and feel of Corporate Clean (Sidebar: they gotta change the names of these themes, its easy to confuse one for the other).
Note: I am reading on the Adaptive Theme page and it mentions that I should match the Adaptive Theme version to the sub-theme version. The available Adaptive Theme is 7.x-3.2.
https://www.drupal.org/project/adaptivetheme
Below are the versions available for the two themes that I am looking at:
Corporate Clean: 7.x-3.2 https://www.drupal.org/project/corporateclean
Clean Corporate: 7.x-1.0 https://www.drupal.org/project/clean_corporate_theme
When I reached out to the creators of this theme, and explained my problem, they asked me to raise an issues bug here on Drupal.org.
I hope the above will allow you to re-create the problem. I greatly appreciate any assistance that can be afforded. I like the look and feel of this theme, but it reports less than 300 users using it. So, its possible others are having problems but have not reported it yet. This is my first bug.

cilefen commentedI am surprised you were sent to the core queue on this. Did the maintainers mention what about the core menu system could be the problem here?
Firebird82 commentedMe too. And no, they did not. I've asked them to respond to this thread. I noticed that an update was released for the theme today. I installed it but the drop down menu still does not work. *frustrating*
Comment #7
Frando commentedTentatively moving to correct queue.

hadros commentedHello!
We use Clean Corporate Theme in Corporate profile (https://www.drupal.org/project/corporate_profile) for basic menu (not dropdown). So the Clean Corporate Theme doesn't support dropdown menu. Probably we will add this functionality in next versions.
Thanks for you comments.

hadros commentedHello!
We have added styles to css files for using drop-down menu. It supports the Superfish (https://www.drupal.org/project/superfish) for desktop menu and the Responsive CSS menu (https://www.drupal.org/project/responsive_menu) for mobile menu. Please, download the last stable version.

jfurnas commentedI am using superfish and still having issues with dropdowns on this theme, as well as breadcrumbs not working. Considering multi-level menus are a common feature in most sites now a days, you'd expect that support for it would come standard with themes.

hadros commentedHello!
Breadcrumbs doesn't depend on superfish. As you can see our theme doesn't have breadcrumbs, it's designer's solution.
But you can use Delta blocks module for displaying and customising breadcrumbs.

jfurnas commentedAccording to your screenshot of the theme, it does have breadcrumbs. How else is somebody supposed to know what features your theme supports if you don't list them and your screenshots are inaccurate?

hadros commentedOh, really sorry, i have confused this theme with another our theme - Multipurpose Corporate Theme. For displaing breadcrumbs we use breadcrumb delta block. I would like to note that it is just theme: css + some js. For full functionality like on screenshot, please, set up our Corporate Profile (https://www.drupal.org/project/corporate_profile)
