Can you please summarize the difference of this module to the Select (or other) module?

In Drupal 7, CCK Select Other implements a select/other widget for list fields rather than a select/other widget for (mainly) webform and text fields.

In Drupal 6, CCK Select Other implements a select/other cck widget for list fields.

Duplicate functionality, different implementation.

OK, thanks. However, I still do not see any advantage or different functionality in using the D6 version of your module over "Select (or other)", which also provides CCK widgets for list fields.

select or other is better for webforms but cck_select_other is better for list fields. select or other is meant for regular text fields or numeric fields while cck select other is for list fields (there is a difference).
