I have a completely new install of Drupal 6 with the CCK module installed. In the Drupal database update screen, the content module returns the following error:

content module can not be updated. Its schema version is 0. Updates up to and including 1008 have been removed in this release. In order to update content module, you will first need to upgrade to the last version in which these updates were available.

So far all the references I've found to this issue relate to not having upgraded Drupal 5 completely before updating to Drupal 6, but in this case I never used 5. I'm fairly new to drupal, so any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Having exactly the same trouble as justinIntelisys above. Completely new/clean install of Drupal 6 and cck module, new site, so no updating or upgrading necessary.
As well as the message popping up in database update, I'm also unable to add new fields to content types. I've added 'file-field' and 'links' modules but still no joy. If anyone has any tips I'd be eternally grateful!
I'm not overly competent with php, though do have access to all ftp files and database if need be.
Many thanks
