I've run into some issues with showing all-day events. I think it's somewhat related to #2604546: Timezone handling, so I will look into the patches there. If it's unrelated (or semi-related), where should I create a ticket and/or add a patch? Since Calendar isn't stable in D8, there's not a way to categorize issues for it directly on the module.
Any word on when we might have something stable to work with. Not having a calendar system is a major detriment for getting people to move forward with Drupal 8
We cannot move websites to Drupal 8 without a functioning Calendar module. Serious question: would an organization sponsoring this module help speed up development?
It is very disheartening that there is still not a stable version of calendar for Drupal 8. No wonder Drupal is continuing to lose market share. Between not having a stable calendar and media handling being an absolute nightmare not to mention upgrade issues from D7 it may be time that things need to be more thought out by the great Drupal Powers That Be.
This module here is/was taking a totally different approach that doesn't depend on JS or an external library. So, if it actually worked, it'd be (IMHO) a win over fullcalendar_view.
#11: Comments like that aren't helpful, and there are no "great Drupal Powers That Be"; it's a do-ocracy. If you'd like things to move forward, then you can contribute by offering funding, maintenance and/or development.
I'm a developer but I'm barely maintaining my existing project and I just don't have the bandwidth to learn the ins and outs of the Calendar module to help out but... I'd contribute to a funding campaign if the goal for a stable Drupal 8 version was laid out with milestones and timeline. When Views became part of core, there was a funding campaign and I contributed to that. I see this as a pretty big part of Drupal so I'm sure it would generate some traction and when someone makes an unhelpful pot-shot at the project, they can be directed to the funding page.
I wonder if you can put together a gofundme or kickstarter campaign to raise funds to make this happen.

Somebody definitely could. It won't be me, though, as I'm no longer working on any projects where this is a priority. But this is definitely a great idea.
Tuning in on this thread, see my effort to combine patches (https://www.drupal.org/project/calendar/issues/3079917) too. But IMHO further progress with this module could benefit from some serious refactoring, e.g. base the templates on display: flex to assist with responsive layout, make better use of DrupalDateTime class and native view modes in D8.
If tried to contact one of the maintainers directly but received no response. I'm willing to take over maintenance if someone more senior - especially in backend OOP stuff - is willing to be a mentor and reflect on my ideas.
heddn, To be honest, unfortunately, I gave up on this module releasing a reliable stable version compatible with D8/9 in a reasonable amount of time. Instead, I have been exploring Full Calendar View and Smart Date Calendar Kit. It seems that the majority of the community has gone in that direction too.

colan#8: When more folks step up and help.
#9: Absolutely. Many of us contractors would be willing to work on these issues if someone paid us.
#10: Fullcalendar View is better than Fullcalendar, but we should still work on getting this one out the door as per #2578231-20: [calendar] Calendar:

scottsawyerCalendar is critical for my current project. Would be happy to chip in on a GoFundMe if we could get some progress.

colan#17: I'm sure a lot of folks could help with that (including myself); right now we need leadership. Please start the process at Dealing with unsupported (abandoned) projects. Thanks!

I've added an issue in this queue for offering (see https://www.drupal.org/project/calendar/issues/3084469) and outlined a rough roadmap in https://www.drupal.org/project/calendar/issues/3084879. I've waited a few days for response and today filed a new issue in Dealing with unsupported (abandoned) projects.. Hopefully we can get this thing rolling again soon.
