I updated to 6.3 and BG no longer works either on the production server or the test server I'm using. It seems to add index.php into the path for the images.

I decided to use views, taxonomy and image nodes instead. A little tricky to set up, but the results are good and flexible. Also it's fits right in with the drupal core modules which is going to make the content creators lives easier.
