When using the S3 File System module in your site along with Brightcove Connect, the brightcove_remote_image() will always return FALSE because the $fullpath variable is set by running the path schema through drupal_real_path() and this is not the path for images when using S3FS. This causes the file_prepare_directory() call to fail and therefore return FALSE. Patch coming shortly.

This is still and issue with the 7.x-6.5 release. Why has my patch not been reviewed?
