Borealis RI is not compatible with all image effects. Because it is hardcoded to look for the width and height attributes at the root of the effect data, if an effect stores these attributes elsewhere, Borealis will not act on them.

Specifically, we are having a problem with the Imagecache Actions "Define Canvas" effect, which stores width/height in an "exact" subarray.

The forthcoming patch fixes this for Imagecache Actions, but a more general approach should probably be conceived.
