I need to show the dropdown menus only when the user clicks on the parent level, not when hovering, and make it disappear when clicks again. In my installation menus are shown on hover, and I don't know how to deactivate it.

What do I have to do to achieve this?

Bootstrap's dropdown menus don't activate on hover by default. This indicates that there is some custom code that is doing this. See related issue.
