Add a configuration option to the pane to display the direction of the bus below the route name.

This would be similar to what is displayed in the phone apps:

Here's a patch that adds a configuration option to display the destination of the bus below the name of the route. The direction is not displayed by default.

Committed a modified version of this which removes the br and uses some css to modify the position of the headsign.
