Hello,

would it be possible to integrate a workaround for transparent PNGs in IE6. I intend to use this great theme, but the majority of users still uses IE6 and the logos look ugly.

An example for such a workaround would be on these sites:

I myself am not good enough in web design issues to submit this fix, sorry.

Thank you.

Change the logo format from transparent PNG to transparent GIF and it fixes the problem.

Yes, but then you loose alpha transparency, as gif only support binary transparency. So the result usually looks crappy....

Found one solution that doesn't require any Javascript or CSS hacks. IE displays the file correctly when it is only a 8-bit PNG. Download pngquant from ftp://ftp.simplesystems.org/pub/libpng/png/applications/pngquant-0.95-wi... and unzip the pngquant.exe file. Then open a DOS command line, switch to the folder where you placed the pngquant.exe and execute "pngquant 256 your.png" where your.png is the name of your png file. It will create another png-file which is only 8 bit. Quality usually doesn't suffer that much. The file works fine in all browser, all IE versions below 7 won't show really crisp transparency, but it degrades gracefully. Of course this only an option if you just need a few files (e.g. a logo) with transparency.
