Requesting to become a co-maintainer on this project.

I intend to bring it smack up to date for Drupal 8 and ensure that at the very least it is fully working when Drupal 8 is released.

I intend to add functionality to it to make it more of Blog solution and less of an after-thought (the reason I suppose it was removed from Core).

I will help with issues queue and aim to be as helpful and informative as I can to all users who post especially those who offer code and solutions/suggestions.

I am absolutely committed to Drupal 8.

I have a vested interest as I am using it (patched with my patch #2075051: Mutilple failures , which is only the first step of many) right now on http://running-on-drupal8.co.uk/ which I hope to develop into a functionally rich D8 site over time.

On getting my first Drupal 8 install I went straight for the blog module (I know it is a bit rubbish but in the past I just added to it), and it was not there. I did some searching, found this module (which made me happy) and installed it. The module in its current state created no content type, provided a couple of new paths (which ended in errors) and partially broke the user profile page (all of which made me very sad). Not anywhere near as urgent as some more pressing Drupal 8 stories but still imho a D8 embarrassment, also I am not distracted by any of the more pressing D8 problems.

I feel I have lost momentum on trying to fix this now, and this am pretty tied up until Weds (co-organising a Drupal talk night) next week which is a shame, I really wanted to get this sorted asap.

I want to make less people sad, more people happy and eventually perhaps everybody delighted (a big ask for a Drupal blog module I know).

Thank you for your consideration

Chris

I thought I remembered you hinting for access when working on #2075051: Mutilple failures, so I think it was like Sept 3 when I added VCS access.

Thank you very much for that, will re-assess my plan accordingly. Unfortunately now will probably be five days or so until I can get back to fixing.

Being still rather new (but learning fast) for future reference, how would I have known I had access apart from trying it?

Cheers,
Chris

There's no way to tell other than someone telling you or just trying it. I guess I just assumed you'd eventually try it :)

Fair play, thanks again looking forward to getting this up to speed, I won't attempt anything over the next few days as I would probably be a bit too hurried around other commitments.

Cheers
