hello

  • is there a way to give a COMMON field different titles depending on publication type? Example: Field "author" is "geometer" in maps.
  • Sequence of field in form is mixed up with existing CCK fields (and others).
How can I force to postion e.g all CCK fields after the biblio fields?
  • For institutions, is "corporate author" same as "editor" ?

In order to give a field a different title based on the type, it must NOT be COMMON, you can then make it "visible" in any given type and give it what ever name you like.

I don't know if you can set the field "Weight" in CCK, but if you can, you would have to set it greater than 20 in order to put them after the biblio fields.

Corporate authors and editors are not handled equivalently. Is there a particular issue you are trying to address here?

Ron,

ad 1) Surprisingly it works when I manipulate the DB by hand. I was able to change the label for Author to "Geometer" for type "maps". But when form admin/settings/biblio/fields is written (submitted) the changes get lost. So it seems to me a feature of the GUI.

ad 2) Yes, CCK fields have an own weight. I checked for two fields I inserted and found values 4 and 6. But when trying to move biblio fields above those CCK fields in the form (maps) it looks that the biblio fields must have at least a value of -21. So CCK weights seam to have a greater value as expected. Is that a known issue?

ad 3) Maps here normally have institutions as authors. So my question is just if this field is the right one (in opposite to an "editor" field). What is special with corporative authors?

By the way: No input parser for mass imports supports corporate authors => hack
