Messages need manual $queue->ack() but module provides no way to do it!

In my testing, I discovered that messages were always left on the queue. This is because AMQPInstance::consume() calls $queue->get(AMQP_NOPARAM), so the messages need to be ack'd later with $queue->ack(). However, the module provides no way to do this!

I can see the start of some such code commented out as amqp_ack().

What is the future plan for this?
