It's almost a year since the last update here for D8. I am really keen to see this module continue. It's such a great solution.
I would be even willing to donate some serious dollars for this to continue!!!
(Knowing that my own contribution in further development can be only testing or some translation.)

Anybody else willing to support the developers?
Any comments from the developer team?

Hi rvinne,

You can get the develop version for Drupal 8 by Git commands. Here is the details,

I developed a patch based on the 8.x-2.x branch, where introduce following new features:

  1. Support multiple Associates IDs (multiple country)
  2. Add browseNodeLookup function

Please be aware that this patch works with apai-io version 2.0 not 1.0 and need to get the composer of 'exeu/apai-io' installed in folder \vendor not in \modules\contrib\amazon\vendor

This module has been abandoned for almost 3-4 years now... No serious updates or developer support, except for 2 summers ago where I added some support for images.

I have enough experience with Drupal 8 and API integration, I might take the initiative and spend all of next week to finally push the module to where it deserves to be.

I have begun to take a look at the work a few other developers have done in the last several months.

The final conclusion I've made is we are going to rewrite (where applicable) the last 6-12 months of work.

The most important reasons being the current code relies on Composer packages, which just isn't viable for most everyday users. My assumption is large percentage of people aren't using the command line to install modules, and to force them todo so, would be a mistake.

Of course paid work is battling for time with this project, but I am going to do my best to commit several days to this project asap.

I'll continue to update this thread and send personal messages as progress continues :)
