Sounds like a useful module!

For future reference, think about using http://drupal.org/project/jq_maphilight to provide a sexy way to select seats - the image map could look like a floorplan of your venue.

Yeah, that would be awesome.
I'm also the maintainer for uc_hotel and this would fit in well for nominating which room on a map, or for other applications like which site in a camping ground.
