External Link and using JavaScript to open in new tab

There is another Drupal module that implement the feature to open external links in new tabs and mark them with an external icon. The project has nearly 50k installs and is well maintained. I'd like to remove the feature from the D7 version of alinks and instead recommend that extlink be used for that feature.

Any objections? Removing the extra features that are found in extlink will make alinks easier to maintain and use.
