Modal form stops working after first login

It's a little strange, but I'm experiencing the same behavior in FireFox 28 and IE 11 so I'm pretty sure there's no browser issue, I haven't tried any others. The modal popup works fine until a user logs in (from anywhere) after which no modal form will not open for that user until the Drupal cache has been cleared. Then it will work one more time and again stop till the cache is cleared, and so on. After chasing around blindly for a while, I noticed that the links are missing the class value ".ctools-use-modal-processed" when they don't work, but no clue why they aren't being processed. This might be a support request-I wish I knew.
