Tokens not replaced before validation

I consider this a bug in both Advanced Link and Link but one might consider this a feature request.
Given that Advanced Link always validates links other than type ADVANCED_LINK_BOTH while with Link this is configurable, there is no way to get certain tokenized URLs past Advanced Link validation.

While it probably makes sense to obey the validation configuration, I'm going to submit a patch that replaces the tokens in the Advanced Link widgets element_validate callback. (Patches have been submitted in the Link issue queue to replace tokens at the field validation level, but those haven't made it in.)
