I am re-opening this. D8 seems to have the same failings that D7 had with regard to the admin role.

Since, This issue has been opened by others, I would like to pitch in for the contribution.

I would also like to actively maintain D8 version if I can get maintainer access of the module..

There is no need for this with D8 is there? I wrote the port to D7 but have never seen a need for this in D8/9.
