When editting a ckeditor content field adminimal have some great style enhancements for pop windows etc for example when editting a link see below
Screen shot showing a window pop up styled by adminimal whle using editor normally
When you go to edit the same window while using the ckeditor 'maximised' this theming is lost
Screen shot showing a window pop up styled by adminimal while using ckeditor maximised
This appears to be caused by the js being called when maximising the ckeditor field removing body classes and certainly the adminimal-theme class. Any styles being specifically targetted with the body.adminimal-theme tag/class are therefore lost when using ckeditor maximised. Not sure whether this is a bug or intended behaviour.
If it is a bug you can address the issue by using a different method of specificity to target styles which rely upon the body.adminimal-theme tag/class being available, so for example an additional div wrapper with unique class could be added to the page.tpl or alternatively add a data attribute to the body tag and target this instead of the adminimal-theme class.
