I am playing around with the admin_language module.

At first it seems to work well, but there are a lot of inconsistances, especially with the admin_menu integration. I think it's even more correct to say the management menu as general as the same functionality is experenced with the core toolbar module as well.

What I mean is:

I have two languages enabled, English and German with English as admin language and German as standard language.

As long as the option "Use administration language in the administration menu" is disabled the frontend (incl. the admin menu) is shown in German (default site language) and as soon as the the page shown an administrative page the site content (incl. the admin menu) changes to English.

That's it, this applies to both administrator and to authenticated users too (the permission "Select administration language" is on).

----

Now if I turn the option "Use administration language in the administration menu" on, the site starts to behave strange.

- the admin menu stays mostly in English (some parts of it are in German) (see admin_menu_1.jpg)

- As administrator if I choose German as my admin language in my settings most parts of the backend are in German, but some are not (see attached images "german_backend_1.jpg" and "german_backend_2.jpg"

- The admin menu stays in English (that's the initial language of the installation) (see admin_menu_after_setting_lang_to_de.jpg)

---

I have to say the module is very cool, but the admin menu implementation is buggy. I have tried almost every set of settings available, but with no luck. If I'm missing something in my setup, please point me to the right direction.

I concur ( I think)
I've tried every possible combination of settings, but as I move around to do stuff - add content, blocks, pages, the language keeps changing. sometimes parts of the menu, sometimes parts of the page... its all very confusing.

oh, its a fresh, standard, installation, and I've been working through this tutorial https://drupal.org/node/1268692

PS. I added the file 'fail.png' to illustrate the same problem. ('fail' is my inability to get a sharp screenshot, d'oh!)

As an editor I've found if I flush the cache then everything appears as it should. If I then refresh the page or navigate to a new one it switches back to showing other language.

For admin role it works as expected. What could be causing it to work ok for admin but not editor?
