I started with 8.x-1.0-rc2+104-dev

But have since built 3 other sites with 8.x-2.0 and would like to have them all be on the same version.

Can i safely update my 8.x-1.0-rc2+104-dev version to 8.x-2.0? or will i have to start from scratch?

Not really, there has been very little testing done on this upgrade option.

I would not try this on a production site - we may need to produce another 1.x version that facilitates and easier upgrade path to 2.x and/or 3.x.

Marking as a docs issue and a task, first need to investigate it, write some docs and possibly release a new 1.x theme that can be upgraded "from" more easily.

I tried going from 8.x-1.0-rc2+90-dev to 8.x.2.0 and the main (dropdown) menu broke. Everything else looked OK but I didn't spend too much time checking everything out since it was a production site. Lesson learned... I should have tested it on a dev site first. I had to roll back the changes to fix it:

1. Delete the current adaptivetheme directory
2. Upload the backup adaptivetheme directory I created before the change
3. Run updates

If i do a fresh DP8 install, and use 8.x-2.0 and point to the same database, will that work?
