Different frontpage theme possible?

I'm developing a site with a different frontpage layout/theme than the other pages. It consists of a menubar and 8 blocks of text, that could change position based on the screensize (4x2 on normal screens to 1x8 on smallest screens). The other pages are more regular, with a menubar and a textbody with articles.

Is it possible two use two different themes, both adaptive (in different ways)? If so, how?
