Hi,
I´m working with the great AT themes and try to make them behave responsive with different content.
So, one thing, wht is still not working is the use of Display Suite layouts in my AT 3.1 subtheme.
I us a "Fluid two column stacked -> /ds_2col_stacked_fluid" layout to display the content of a node with its fields. So, if I resize the page an image (left collumn) gets smaller and the text in the right (column) gets smaller too. Beautiful so far.
column left | column right
image | text
But I want, that my display suite layouts shows the content like the drupal blocks (floating). So , if I resize the page - like this:
image
text
Is this something I can do with the AT theme od sth., that I have to do in DS ?
thanks for feedback.
frank

well I found also this discussion: http://drupal.org/node/1902382
And it seems, that DS needs Panels module. Jeff writes here -> You don't need to copy paste anything, just enable DS and Panels and they will show up - you need Panels because the AT layout plugins are Panels Plugins, which DS can use.
And here a video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKTsjEJuvQ4

Leeteq CreditAttribution: Leeteq commentedI think that most of us DS users are using DS instead of Panels. A Panels dependency just for responsive functionality that can be fixed in such an easy CSS way, seems total overkill.
This should either be a configurable option i AT or DS GUI settings, IMO.

Jeff Burnz CreditAttribution: Jeff Burnz commentedI wouldn't necessarily agree that DS and Panels is an OR situation, more of an AND. E.g. DS has no context awareness, cannot do full page layouts, no mini panels etc, so lots of users are using both.
I think it's a reasonable feature request, although I'd have to refresh my memory with D7 DS and Panels to see if it could work in a sensible BC way. It's not merely a matter of a bunch of new DS layouts and having them lever the Panels layouts responsive settings (probably easy), but rather the UI issues of duplicated layouts in DS - I'd want to avoid that and appear seamlessly BC with previous versions.
Honestly at this stage of D7 I'm not overly keen to make major changes, my focus is with regards to features is on D8. I see D7 about the plateau and D8 to start picking up adoption, so I'm finding it hard to see where my ROI is in programming hours invested in a superseded version (other than bug fixes, maintenance etc).
