since months we were thinking about externalizing the shared functions of OpenID Client Ax and OpenID Provider AX to a separate module. Nevertheless I was hesitating because there is not really much and the module itself would not have a purpose at its own. But doubling code is not a good idea either.

Anyway, now for the d7 modules it would make sense to include this separation during the ports, so no unexpected behavior would occur for users of the drupal 6 modules.

I'd appreciate patches in the module issue queues - this would help to collaborate and actually it is better for defining proper attribution of authorship.
