Pixo offers large-scale Drupal services including enterprise integrations, and maintenance/support plans in addition to full lifecycle design and development. Pixo is a group of 30 full-time innovators who work closely at our Downtown Urbana location. We build business applications, enterprise-size web apps, and we solve the technical hurdles to bring new inventions to life. Pixo’s employees engineer custom technology solutions for high-achieving clientele. For 17 years, Pixo has served as a trusted partner for corporate, start-up, and non-profit clients. We excel in understanding our client’s culture and constituents, developing user-proven architecture and design, and implementing rock solid technologies and processes that last well beyond their lifetime expectancy.

At Pixo, we begin planning for accessibility as soon as the requirements and discovery phase of a project gets underway — long before the graphic design is completed and before the first line of code is written. We’ve contributed to Drupal’s core software and fought to make it more accessible to those using assistive technologies and non-traditional browsers. We routinely build sites that comply with U.S. Section 508, W3C WCAG 2.0, and the Illinois IT Accessibility Act. We’ve developed dozens of custom modules and themes and shared our experiences in local user groups and national conferences.

Our Drupal clients have included the American Library Association, DigitalLearn.org, and Northeastern Illinois University. Pixo has launched 200+ Drupal sites in Drupal versions 5-7, and has been in business since 1998. Contact us at www.pixotech.com for more information.

Drupal contributions

Pixo's CTO, Brandon Bowersox-Johnson, is an Accessibility Co-Maintainer for Drupal 7 core. He helped write many of the patches to Drupal 7 that made it the world's most accessible open source CMS and is listed as a maintainer in MAINTAINERS.txt. Brandon also moderated the monthly accessibility group meeting (groups.drupal.org/accessibility).

Conference presentations include DrupalCon Chicago 2011 (http://chicago2011.drupal.org/sessions/intro-accessible-site-building-dr...), Drupal Camp Indy 2010, Drupal Boot Camp Champaign-Urbana 2008, and Drupal Camp Chicago 2008. Two Pixo staff contributed at the Accessibility Sprint at Twin Cities Drupal Camp in Fall 2013.

Pixo has provided lots of other bug fixes and support in the issue queue. For example, we posted solutions to a Shibboleth Authentication bug that causes Varnish cache compatibility issues: https://drupal.org/node/1589006 . Our whole team works to build sustainable Drupal solutions and to contribute to the robust base of Drupal community tools.
