Change File Download Feature path to a File Upload field

I've searched all over the ubercart forums and Drupal.org but can't find anyone even asking the question. Maybe I am missing a setting somewhere?

When you add a "File Download" feature to a product you are provided with an autocomplete path to select the file from the download directory. This works fine but why not just provide an upload field right here so the staff member can upload a file on this page rather than going somewhere else or using FTP?

Has anyone else done this?
