Any plans on implementing pgRouting to be able to route between nodes or node and use selected point?

No: users are free to write contrib modules that do this, but it's far outside the scope of this module.

So, closing - works as designed, but feel free to write another module that integrates this with OpenLayers. I have my doubts as far as stability, maintenance, and performance of this code, but haven't looked to the core of it.
