On a content type settings page (such as admin/content/node-type/page) if the "Disabled" option is indicated under "Default comment setting" It would be better if all the other comment options were hidden.

The most common use case is as follows: a new user wanting a content type with NO COMMENTS comes to this form, they click disabled, and then proceed to read and then answer 8 more questions about comments - which will never be used.

I understand that the "Disabled" option only sets a default for the node form, and that all this other information could still be necessary in the event that someone overrides the default comment setting on an individual node, so it needs to remain accessible. However, *that* is the edge-case.

This still seems to be a problem in D7, but with only 5 additional questions, and presented in a better way, it's not quite so offensive.

I still think it would be better if we could clean up this interface with a little jQuery, or something.
