When a user sighs up for an account no e-mail is sent with a temporary password or information about how to log in. If an admin creates a users the same is true, no e-mail goes to the users address.

I have the private message module installed and it is able to e-mail a user when a new message is sent to that user, so it's not an issue of mail settings or not being able to send mail at all. There is also nothing available in the logs about the issue.

I'm using content profiles, and while the user is created on the system, the content profile that the user fills out fields for doesn't get created. There is no error message displayed after use creation.

I'm seeing the same issue. User Settings for "Visitors can create accounts but administrator approval is required" and "Notify user when account is activated" is checked...but they don't receive an e-mail when the account is activated. In fact, they didn't receive an e-mail saying it was awaiting administrator approval, but the admin did get an e-mail saying someone had applied for an account.
