On a clean install of Drupal, created a view with just a filter for content type. Calendar appears with buttons for month and week but not day.

I will add a config option for the plugin that will allow users to set the header options for full calendar : http://arshaw.com/fullcalendar/docs/display/header/

You can actually set this in the views-view-fullcalendar.tpl.php file that comes with the module.

I added the "agendaDay" option as a default button display. I also added settings on the style plugin that will allow you to configure these options as well.
