After upgrading to 4.7.4 from 4.7.3 (and overwriting my .htaccess without a backup unfortunately) I can no longer access anything that has a "node" value as it's url. Node/899 node/add node/anything will not work. Any other alias will work such as invite, admin, user. Everything with /node redirects to the home page.
Any ideas folks?
Disabling clean URL's seems to work, but that's just a patch, not a solution.

insure that reenabling cleanurls doesnt fix issue the original issue ?
not sure if reenabling rewrites to the .htaccess, or if clean url's requires anything different, but I'd be happy to provide my .htaccess with clean url's turned on for your inspection.

using winmerge you can compare my file from your own. Hopefully this will show you something blatantly different.

It's exactly the same.
Anyone else have an idea?
The other thing that happens is when going to www.worldcoast.ca/blog, instead of pulling up the blogs, it pulls up the file located at www.worldcoast.ca/misc/blog.png
I'm curious if it's sending things out to the misc directory or something weird like that?

I've tried to duplicate your issue I cannot. It definetly seems to be a rewrite issue.
Do you have pathauto installed?
Maybe im grasping at straws here, but Its the only other module that i've gotten my feet wet with that can alter that kind of behavior.
any chance your host has a backup ? of your site ? that you can reinstall ? so at least you get back on your feet? while this is getting sorted out.
I do have pathauto installed
I do have pathauto installed and it has generated page upon page of URL aliases, but none of them would redirect worldcoast.ca/blog to worldcoast.ca/misc/blog.png
That one just baffles me.
Perhaps if I cleared out the url alias table.. but..
The site is just a personal blog so i'm not so worried about it, but it would be wonderful if the clean url's worked.
pathauto was just updated
pathauto was just updated today as well, which is why i asked. have you updated that as well ?
http://drupal.org/project/pathauto
I don't know if the update had anything to do with situations arising from 4.7.4 or if its mere coincidence but I'ts worth a shot no ? ; )
cleared out url alias
cleared out url alias table
updated path auto
reran batch creation
still get same issue.
Issue occurs whether path and pathauto are installed or not.

I found the problem.
I had files called node and blog in my root and it wanted to point at them.
Removed them and now it works.
