Drupal and OJS (open source for hosting scholarly journals) each offer excellent and in many ways complementary features. I'd like my users to be able to access each, with a single username/password (ideally, with a single login).
I'm aware of the Drupal ejournal module, which has some nice features but not as full featured as OJS.
I see there are a couple drupal authentication modules which might help: CAS, Imap Auth, LDAP and PubCookie. Maybe others.
So, has anyone accomplished something similar and has advice to offer before I take the plunge??
Thanks!

you may want to take a look at the gallery2.module which bridges menalto gallery2 with drupal. reverse engineering this module should help with building a bridge for other projects that require shared logins and the like.
OpenID
We are currently working on integrating a few separate apps using OpenID -- This would address your single sign on issues, as well as allowing for a distributed network of learners/researchers having access to the OJS site.
Feel free to contact me to talk about options/collaboration --

One more option to consider!
One more option to consider! Thanks for the offer to help. I'll get back to you when I've done a little more homework first.

Drupal / OJS
Hi all,
FYI, the OJS development team receives a lot of inquiries about Drupal integration; if you have any questions or suggestions, we'd love to hear them. See our support forum at http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum.
We've recently added Shibboleth support, which might be helpful, but haven't tried this with Drupal's Shibboleth options. If you've tried this, feedback would be much appreciated.
