Hi all - I remember reading somewhere that people who comment can click a box to be notified if someone replies to their comment. I can't find it now for the life of me - anyone know how to do this?

Thanks,
Allen

on drupal.org ? if so there is no setting for this.
However, if you mean a contrib module, you can install notify.module which will do what you ask.

while are waiting for someone else to confirm or deny.

the way it seems to be done now, is that they type "subscribe" into a thread , or comment on the thread, then it shows in their recent posts -> my recent posts

I've seen this alot in issue threads as a method to subscribe to an issue that they too notice and want to keep track of.

I did manage to find the ability to subscribe in the issues area of drupal.org at the top of each issue, you can choose to subscribe.

Now per your last post, it seems you want the ability to subscribe on your drupal site ? and not on drupal.org. if this is the case, Then I totally misunderstood you : ) as I thought and had even asked, if you were looking for this functionality on drupal.org. I didnt realize you were looking for a module for your own site.

there is a subscription module in the downloads area that works the way you describe. http://drupal.org/project/subscriptions
