Confused by the readme doc

I wish the readme doc was a more consistent with the names for the items you need to create throughout the doc. Phrases like "the one that..." does not help. Halfway through you say "Create a new node type, a "Slider Panel"" but it seems I should have done that in a previous step? Why not say make one content type called "slider" and the content called be "pages" and then just keep referring to these two by name? I am not sure which one I am supposed to add the CCK field_slider_content filed to. I made the view as described but I do not see the advanced "Advanced - Nodes that can be referenced (View)" in the content type edit screen. Can this be re-written with consistency and steps?
