ecommerce checkout button

Hi,

First off, I have never built a website before and I've only been working with drupal for two weeks. Any info is very helpful. Thanks!

This is what I want to do after playing around with the ecommerce module and then venturing into the php code and being utterly baffeled.

I have a product page. At the bottom of the page it lets me add the product to a cart. The page refreshes and at the top it states the product has been added to your shopping cart, but there's no proceed to checkout button anywhere.

I want to see at the bottom of the page, underneath the "add to cart" button, or at the top underneath the "added to your shopping cart", a link that says "proceed to checkout." I don't want all the stuff associated with the cart block to show up there (and I also want the cart block somewhere else and I don't know how to get two of those blocks on the same page).

I've looked around the forum and have found nothing about this. (Maybe I'm designing my site strangly?) If anyone can provide guidance on what i need to do to accomplish this that would be great.
