Assigning Taxonomy to multichoice responses

I wrote this to falcon first, then thought better of it. Hopefully I can get some clues from the rest of you all.

I'd like to categorize the responses, and it seems that leveraging Taxonomy would be a good choice. Obviously I can assign terms to the questions themselves, but I want to go further. Multichoice feedback is available in the Advanced Options group box for each Alternative response, but it's a freeform textarea. I'd like to change it, or add to it, to include a Taxonomy vocabulary for each Answer Alternative.

Do you agree? If so, can you either 1) estimate what it would take to mod the multichoice module, or 2) estimate what it would take to tell me the points to hit if I were to make the mod myself?
