I want to have an administer block, and it'd be handy to have the already built menu structure of "administer" in there. But I can't see any way to "move" it into a new block - sure I can add the administer item, but I seem to have to then go through and recreate all the sub items that are in the existing menu. Isn't there a quick way of just copying or moving the whole thing?

I already did that, and i don't remember moving the children too. I just moved the "administer" link to a new menu. And then placed the new menu exactly where i wanted.
Have you tried moving the "administer" entry ?

Ah I didn't realise you could do that. That worked a treat. I just changed it's "parent item" to the new menu (didn't realise that was possible) and it jumped into the new block that I'd created.
nicely done!
