I love this module but the one thing that keeps making me install admin_menu instead of this is the quick access to the above listed functions that admin_menu provides.

It would be great if you could optionally add these items for admin users who are playing a dev role.

These options are actually provided by the Devel module -- if you enable this module you will be able to also enable a "Devel" block in the admin toolbar which provides exactly these options.

I agree this would be good add on. Installing the devel module just to add a few menus is overkill. The Admin module is a perfect replacement for drupal 7 admin menu, it's way better I think.

I'd installed Admin2 with Rubik/Tao -- and have been mostly happy with it.

Two issues keep driving me back to admin_menu from Admin2 ...

(1) lack of an automatically expand submenu on hover feature
(2) the issue commented here -- namely, an additional menu to display "Flush Caches", etc etc.

specifically, the equivalent of:

would be a real nice-to-have.

thanks!

I"ve also noticed it's not as responsive as a typical css style menu so it's got some clunky going on but I still like it a whole lot. It needs to be faster.

I totally agree with BenDJ whilst I want to love admin2 as it looks great it just doesn't work efficiently enough to stop me from going back to admin_menu.

Yes, I agree with @BenDJ because installing Devel module is like trying to blast a mouse with an elephant gun. Devel does a whole hell of a lot and I would not feel very secure knowing that it was running on a site all the time.

I don't see the issue why these menu items couldn't be automagically added to the admin menu or by themselves as their own menu in the admin2 module.

installing Devel module is like trying to blast a mouse with an elephant gun.

Point taken. Will see what a light version of this functionality in Admin (if Devel is not present) would look like.

Is flush cache integrated into this module yet? If not, I guess I must enable devel, which seems to be overkill on a production environment =/

Use the Admin Tools Module, it has both flush cache and run cron, integrates perfectly with Admin.
