The need has arisen with the large set of settings available via the .info file that in Drupal 7, once you have installed and enabled the theme, the settings from the .info are used. Once you have used the interface, and saved the settings form under theme settings, then you no longer have the ability to change the .info file, and have that new setting respected.

The omega_tools module will be adding a feature to compensate for this, and for theme setting pages, adding a "Reset to Defaults" option that should do the following:

  • Add menu callback for functionality
  • Add form_alter to theme settings form for Reset to Defaults action
  • Remove the record for the theme in the system table, and then re-enable the theme

Fixed with the latest beta version of the Omega Tools module for D7 will encompass these features, and allow export AND revert of custom theme settings in the Omega theme.
